El artículo analiza el tema de la migración y el impacto de la crisis de los refugiados de 2015 en el contexto político europeo, explorando los complejos vínculos entre las opciones básicas de la Unión (clara división entre migración interna sujeta a la libre circulación y rígido cierre de fronteras exteriores), el creciente populismo y la colusión entre los populistas y la derecha conservadora en materia de discursos y políticas migratorias.
El objetivo del artículo es comprender las tendencias de fondo en torno al tema de la migración en el contexto actual y en relación con las perspectivas políticas y económicas de la Unión Europea, de las cuales la gestión de la migración puede ser reveladora.
